How do I apply a gradient to an image?

A Gradient is essentially a transition made of different levels of transparency that will allow you to blend images together or with the background or another image.

Found under the Border Editor; click the Gradient tab, click Enable and then choose between a variety of transitions.

Here is an example done with the Linear mode.

Changing the Angle or using the Invert option helps you send the fading gradient in the right direction you are looking for.

The Softness option modifies the distance between opacity of the gradient.

The Midpoint option will squeeze or expand the fall off area.

With the Circular, Rectangular and Diamond options you can also change the center reference by moving the X/Y Axis Sliders

Below are examples of other Gradient options:

Two Edge-Linear

Four Edge-Linear

Circular

Rectangular

Diamond
